James Campbell leads PwC’s incident response services within its Cyber Security practice. His team, described by the Financial Times as "one of the world’s most elite corporate teams of cyber defenders", provides threat intelligence, detection and response services, and are regularly called on to respond and mitigate sophisticated cyber threats. Prior to joining PwC, James was the Assistant Director of Operations at the Australian Signals Directorate's Australian Cyber Security Centre. Where James was accountable for the government's nation-wide incident response capability; this involved responding to network intrusions, designing and executing containment strategies, and gaining insights into the latest tools techniques and procedures used by Cyber Criminals and APT (advanced persistent threat) actors. Over the past ten years, James has led 100s of large scale global investigations involving government, law enforcement and industry. During this time James has written and contributed to a number of national policies and guidance documents, including authoring several sections of the Australian government's information security manual and is also a well regarded public speaker on the topic of cyber defence and best-practice controls.
